Lynn's Giveaway and a New (Old) Breyer Catalog

Last month, Lynn Isenbarger (Horsie Mama blog) has been celebrating her 50th anniversary in the model horse hobby and wrote about it on her blog. She also decided to have some giveaways to fellow hobbyists through commenting on any of her blog posts. Usually, there were just one giveaway to a random drawing. The second to the last was a multiple drawing. And the last one was for anyone who had commented but hadn't received a prize with the previous ones. It gets better - the last one is clearly a surprise, you don't know what goodies you are going to get! I was originally thinking that I don't need whatever that surprise is. I gave in not because of FOMO, but for the pure truth that my curiosity is too high for my own good!
Guess what?!
The package arrived yesterday!
Inside was a note from Lynn, a Breyer 1993 box catalog, a business card, one of Lynn's beautiful Stablemate size Haversacks...that had a surprise inside with a surprise inside of that! It was like a box in a box in a box, etc. It was a horse charm that could easily pass for a model horse scale Christmas ornament!

Of course, I had to do a comparison with my oldest Breyer catalog (obviously well loved!).

So, now I wonder when Breyer switched from having fold-out catalogs to stapled books...?

Then I started looking through the 2002 one to see who has been around since 1993. Look! There's Brighty!
And Misty and Stormy - they were sold separately until Breyer made them into a book gift set.
Do you see the Classic set on the bottom left hand corner?
See anyone familiar who joined my herd this year?

Yep - that's Merrylegs!
A dark variation, too!
Now I have the catalog that would have come with this girl (and her buddies, if I had them) in the box. How cool is that!

Thanks Lynn!!!
