The results came in last week for the MEPSA Other Animal Show. When I first looked at the emailed results, I had trouble trying to figure out who was who since I had to give so many plastic animals and dinosaurs names on the fly. So, I decided to wait until my photos came back to really "see" who got what placing.
I had entered 4 dogs, but no one placed. That's OK.
I had some placings in the Cats division. Which is pretty cool!
In the American Longhair Breeds Class, I had 2 placings:
Lera is a female Somali and she placed 6th. I have no idea what brand she is. I vaguely remember when I got her, and several other kitties in the same set, but I was a kid then, so remembering is hard. She was an on-the-fly-name.
Cleo is a female Lilac Point Himalayan Persian. She is a-matter-a-fact a Barbie cat from forever ago. I received her with her cat family the same year Santa gave me a Barbie house for Christmas. She received 10th place in this class. Her name I also came up with on the fly.
Next, in the American Shorthair Breeds, I had 3 placings:
Hector is a slight customized 2012-13 Breyer Walmart Vet Care cat. He is one of the few who already had a name; and because he is a Breyer, unlike all of my childhood plastic animals, he is listed in my catalog of Breyer Horses. He is actually named after one of my old friend's cat from when we were growing up. So, no relations to my family's cat, Lightning, who displays a similar color pattern. He got 6th place.
Mattie is another whose name is well remembered. She is named after a calico cat we had when I was growing up. She is also one of those 1990's Pencil Toppers, as I call them, and is not an eraser. I have tons of these, in cats, dogs, and dinosaurs. She received 9th place in this class.
Titan is a male Bombay and received 10th place. He is also from a set of plastic animal cats in which I have NO idea what the brand is. I think they came with a selection of cat toys.
Onto the European Longhairs, in which I had 5 placings:
Alexa's mother, Lottie, placed 7th. I am still surprised that all of my Barbie cats placed the top ten in their classes!
Another from the same set as Titan, I ended up labeling Cassy a Tortoiseshell Point Persian. Many of the cats from this set have wonky colors that you literally have to match it the best you can to the real color genetics. She placed 9th.
As with the case with Cassy, Mozart ended up being labeled a male tortoiseshell - which is a possible, but rare occurrence. He placed 10th.
In the European Shorthair class, I had 3 placings:
In Oriental breeds, I had 1 placing:
In Asian Breeds (Non-Oriental), I had 4 placings:
Annabelle is a Singapura cat from Singapore, which shares the main island of Indonesia. Singapura cats are the smallest domesticated cats in the world. She is from the Breyer Pocket Cats line and placed 8th.
Onto the Wild Canine class, I only had one entry and I'm surprised that he actually placed considering the visible wear he features from years of play.
Well....I guess the wear marks aren't very visible in this photo... Balto is from the Breyer 2003 Mustang (Classic Duchess) and Wolf set I had gotten for my birthday that same year. He placed 5th.
Now the Dinosaurs! This is when it gets really funny. That is, there are lots of people who enters practically their whole herd in these MEPSA shows, since the number of entries is unlimited. There are just different price brackets for the number of photos fees. It just feels like your entry got plagued by someone else's herd.
Well, that's what I practically did in the Land Herbivore Dinosaur class with 25 entries, 8 placings, and 1 Honorable Mention:
Sully, a male Styracosaurus (Breyer CollectA) placed 3rd. This is a pose you don't see very often - and the very reason why I wanted him!
Spike, named after the Stegosaurus from The Land Before Time video series. He placed 4th.

Jane is my second most recent dinos. She is a Safari Ltd. Amargasaurus and placed 6th.
Cornith, Coryn's mate, placed 7th. The only way to tell them apart is by looking at the shade of blue on their throats. Cornith's is dark blue and Coryn's is a lighter blue.
Maevis is an older Safari Ltd. Plateosaurus from when I was very little. She placed 8th.

Maevis is an older Safari Ltd. Plateosaurus from when I was very little. She placed 8th.
I can vaguely remember that Sally was her original name. She is a Safari Ltd. Parasourolophus and placed 9th.
Aladar is named after the main character in Disney's 3D dinosaur movie, Dinosaur. He is an Iguanadon and placed 10th.
Bran is named after Littlefoot's dad in the tenth movie of The Land Before Time series. He is one of the really big Dinosaurs that Safari Ltd. produced while I was a kid. He received an Honorable Mention.
I had only 3 out of 4 entries who placed in the Land Carnivore class:
Chomper is named after one of the characters who appear in a couple of movies in The Land Before Time series. He is Susan and Rex's son. He placed 9th.
Rex is one of my oldest plastic Dinos. The wear marks are more visible than Balto's, but I had to enter him anyway because he is really cool and realistic. He placed 10th.
The Flying Dinosaurs are next and both of my 2 entries placed! ...Out of 4 entries....
There was a Dragons class. I had only 1 entry and surprisingly there were only two other entries.
Flamebreath placed 2nd. He is from the Megabloks Dragons sets from when I was a kid. He was my favorite one and my younger brother let me keep him from one of his sets.
There was also an Other Mythological class - I entered what Pegasus' and Unicorns I had on hand.
In the Other Animal Performance class, I had 3 placings:
Leah and Mheeto placed 5th in their scenes performance. They are one of the few plastic animals seen in this position.
Welcome to ThunderClan! Yes, I love those books and I still haven't read all of them! This scene placed 6th.
I think I should try to re-print this one, because it printed a little too dark to place anything higher than 7th or 8th. But it still manages to make it into the top ten, which is surprising. This time this photo got 8th place.
And that is all for this show. Now it's waiting for the MEPSA 2019-20 Championship Show results! I. CAN'T. WAIT!!!
